OUR PROFESSIONAL STAFF

Dr. Letizia understands that providing quality dental services requires teamwork. She works closely with her staff and is proud of their professional backgrounds and expertise. Her daily interaction with and feedback from her staff ensures each patient that he or she will receive the benefits of a combined effort, in a coordinated program of treatment.

Dr. Letizia is pleased to introduce her staff and explain their individual and special roles in the practice:

Clare, Carol and Patti

Carol, the Office Manager, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the practice, including welcoming patients, making appointments, check-out procedures and payment arrangements.

Patti, the Office Coordinator, is responsible for dealing with all aspects of insurance, office scheduling, and making arrangements for continuing education for the staff.

Clare (Front Office Assistant), began her career as a dental assistant. Then she switched gears and took a job in the pharmaceutical industry. Twenty years later she decided to return to dentistry. She is raising a family and works in our office as both a dental assistant and front desk person. She is our newest employee and will be a definite asset to our office.

The Registered Dental Hygienists
. . . are responsible for the vital dental care component of cleaning teeth (prophylaxis). They also administer fluoride treatments, apply sealants, and provide Soft Tissue Management They are also responsible for instruction and administration of bleaching (tooth whitening).

Kim and Mary Ann

Mary Ann, RDH (Registered Dental Hygienist) works full time in the practice. In addition to the regular functions she provides as a hygienist, she is also in charge of maintaining and updating patients' orthodontic records.

Kim, RDH (Registered Dental Hygienist) is the office's "late day and Saturday hour" hygienist. Her hours are designed to make professional hygiene components available at these "special" hours, for the convenience of patients.

Nancy, Kelly, Andrea & Clare

The Dental Assistants
. . . are both figuratively and literally, Dr. Letizia's right hand. Dr. Letizia works with the dental assistant in what is know as "four-handed dentistry," a technique in which the dentist and her assistant to coordinate movements and procedures in order to maximize quality and minimize the time the patient needs to spend in the chair.

All the assistants in Dr. Letizia’s office have expanded duties. They receive additional training and certification which permits them to do a variety of functions (e.g., impressions, adjustment of crowns), which, in most practices, are limited to the dentist.

Nancy, (Certified Dental Assistant) assists the doctor at chair-side. She has the additional duties of maintaining orthodontic records and functions as the practice's OSHA Coordinator, ensuring that the practice meets and maintains all prescribed infection control guidelines.

Kelly, (Dental Assistant) has been in the dental field for twenty years. She began her dental career as a receptionist, which she worked at for fifteen years. Wanting to try something new, Kelly "moved" from the front to the back, and began a career as a hygiene assistant. She really enjoys her work, particularly working in this office. Her organizational skills contribute to the performance of her duties, in which she excels.

Andrea, (Dental Assistant) assists the doctor at chair-side. She also has the additional duties of maintaining patient records.
