Fresh Breath!
What adult hasn't worried from time to time about their breath? The social stigma of bad breath is a major concern to everyone. Your breath is unique because although it is an intimate part of you, you "distribute" it both freely and continuously to those around you. It's also something that sometimes even those closest to you will not bring to your attention.
What, you may ask, is the source of these bacteria? The answer is simple. They are caused by incomplete cleaning of your teeth gums and tongue. It is the tiny traces of food debris left behind as a result of inadequate brushing and flossing which eventually produce the bacteria. There also can be other more serious causes of bad breath. Periodontal (gum) disease is often responsible. Sinus or lung infections, some forms of diabetes, and kidney and/or liver malfunctions can also be a cause. The practice of good oral hygiene routines and regular cleanings at the dentist's office are your first line of defense. If, however, you diligently practice good oral hygiene routines and still suffer from bad breath, don't be embarrassed and don't despair. Talk to us. We can help by evaluating your particular situation and designing an oral hygiene program specifically for you! |
