Dr. Letizia and her staff have enrolled in and completed
several additional courses in orthodontics. The staff has incorporated
a more comprehensive orthodontics program into the practice, while
maintaining the same level of care for all our patients.
The majority of traditionally trained practitioners prefer waiting to treat a child until all the child's permanent teeth have erupted. There are certain occlusions (bites) that, when treated early, between the ages of seven and twelve, ensure results that involve no extraction and no surgery.
Our objective is to correct 80% of these occlusions by utilizing functional appliances in the early stages and the remaining 20% using fixed braces in the permanent dentition. This procedure avoids the extraction of permanent teeth.
